REVIEW: TAYLOR BENNETT HOLIDAY BASH @ METRO CHICAGO

Chicago emcee, Taylor Bennett, hosted his sold out Holiday Bash at the Metro the Friday before Christmas, featuring performances from Supa Bwe, Sus Life, Elz the DJ, Morocco Brown, and Evie the Cool.

Morocco Brown, an artist within the Taylor Bennett gang, performed his brand of uptempo hip-hop to get the crowd warmed up. Morocco is a hungry emcee and this showed with his performance at the Holiday bash. Supa Bwe, of the former group Hurt Everybody, followed.

Supa opened up with his latest single “Lil Doggy.” The crowd really responded to this.  It was really refreshing to hear him perform a song that sounded this positive. In the middle of his set he brought out Warhol.ss, who brought the energy level all the way up. The two of them jumped off the stage into the photo pit and got the crowd hype, even after Warhol.ss left the stage, Supa jumped in the crowd again to perform the rest of his amazing set.

Elz the DJ followed Supa, who’s claim to fame outside of having some serious DJ chops, is that he is Lil Dicky’s tour DJ. He spun the latest hits to get the crowd ready before Taylor Bennett took the stage.

When Bennett finally hit the stage to a packed house, the crowd was so hyped to see the man of the hour. He had two special guests, King Louie and Sus Life as his band. The night was amazing full of music and young positive energy.  It was the perfect way to bring in the holidays and a great harnessing of energy for up and coming generations of music in Chicago.
